An Essential Tale

In 1413, four French perfumers by day, thieves by night, robbed plague victims yet never contracted the deadly infection themselves. The thieves remained healthy by dousing themselves with a potent alchemy of essential oils. Upon their arrest, the Magistrate granted them leniency in exchange for their secret formula. Today EssentialOxygen brings you this same powerful blend for your oral health and beauty.

    IT WORKS Best for:

  • Tooth Sensitivity, Morning Mouth, Healthier Gums, Canker Sores, Whiter Teeth, Bad Breath, Tartar

    IT'S CLEAN Free of:

  • Sodium Laurel Sulfate, Chlorine Bleach, Animal Testing, Pesticides, Flourides, Glycerin, Alcohol

Although other 'natural' toothpastes often do, our Organic Brushing Rinse never contain:

Bleach

Bleach contains chlorine. It is a highly reactive substance, meaning that it readily combines with other elements. When it is isolated and freed from its chemical bonds, it becomes a toxic gas. During World War I, the poison was used as a weapon, thus spawning the ignominious age of chemical warfare. Today the world is awash in the stuff. Chlorine is used to produce polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics, herbicides, pesticides, cleansers, and pharmaceuticals; to bleach pulp and paper; and to disinfect water. All told, it is a component in about 15,000 products that have combined estimated annual sales of $71 billion. In spite of its prevalence, there is a movement to ban chlorine because it is suspected of causing a number of environmental problems, including ozone depletion. It is also thought to pose health threats to humans and wildlife, ranging from cancers to endocrine disruption. Chlorine is an ingredient in such notorious pollutants as DDT, PCBs, CFCs, Agent Orange, and dioxin. There's no question that household bleach, which is about 5 percent sodium hypochlorite, a mixture of chlorine and sodium hydroxide, is a dangerous product. Avoid purchasing as many chlorinated products as possible. ~ Audubon Magazine

Glycerin

In 2002, Gerard F. Judd, Ph.D., Researcher and Professor Emeritus of Chemistry, wrote a letter to the United States government stating that teeth re-enamel themselves by drawing minerals from food. Glycerin, he discovered, inhibits this process. Removing the glycerin ‘coating' from teeth requires up to 27 rinses. Virtually all so called ‘healthy' toothpastes contain glycerin as a primary ingredient

Heavy Metals

Heavy Metals The difference between food grade hydrogen peroxide and cosmetic or industrial grade that is found in brown bottles at grocery and drug stores, is that the food grade doesn't have the harmful stabilizers found in the brown bottle varieties. The stabilizers made of chemicals like tetra sodium phosphate, sodium stagnate, acetanilide and phenol contain significant quantities of toxic heavy metals. Most toothpastes and mouthwashes use the non-food grade variety of peroxide.

Alcohol

On ABC's 20/20, germ expert Dr. Phillip Tierno, a professor at New York University, stated, “the alcohol content present in many mouthwashes can dry your mouth out. When the saliva glands are dry, they are unable to wash away bacteria so the odorous material flourishes.”

Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS)

Studies show SLS to be irritating, drying and to CAUSE canker sores.

Preventing Internal Disease

Nearly 75 percent of American adults suffer from various forms of periodontal (gum) disease and don't know it. Though reversible in its initial stages, mounting evidence of the relationship between oral bacteria and life-threatening diseases such as oral cancer, heart disease, diabetes, respiratory ailments, and premature, low birth weight babies makes it critical that the condition be prevented or treated aggressively. ~ The American Dental Hygienist Association

Brushing Rinse Ingredients

DEIONIZED PURIFIED WATER

No tap water here with chlorine, arsenic, and fluoride among other harmful substances. Our water is double filtered and deionized.

FOOD GRADE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE (1%)

Hydrogen peroxide is water (H2O - two hydrogen molecules and one oxygen molecule) with an additional oxygen molecule attached. It is the extra oxygen molecule that is the working agent of hydrogen peroxide, specifically the release of it. Oxygen is a powerful antiseptic as well as a whitening agent. When hydrogen peroxide comes in contact with ANY organic substance, it will release its oxygen molecules. That is the cause of the foaming. When hydrogen peroxide is applied to a wound it is releasing its oxygen (the foam) that sanitizes the wound or cleans the mouth of destructive bacteria.

ORGANIC ALOE VERA

Aloe vera in tooth gels is used to cleanse and soothe teeth and gums, and is equally as effective as toothpaste in fighting cavities, according to the May/June 2009 issue of General Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry's clinical journal. Science Daily states that aloe eliminates pathogenic oral micro flora and contains anti-inflammatory anthraquinones that are healing and analgesic. Dilip George, MDS, co-author of the study, explains that the healing enzymes and polysaccharides come from aloe's inner fillet and “must not be treated with excessive heat or filtered during the manufacturing process.” In making the Brushing Rinse, we use 100% pure organic aloe vera inner fillet that has been dehydrated by a unique low temperature method.

ORGANIC ESSENTIAL OILS

Brushing Rinse Instructions

Shake bottle. Squirt 1/3 oz. of rinse in mouth and brush teeth. First thing upon rising, before swallowing saliva, swish and brush teeth and tongue with rinse to remove morning mouth bacteria. Use as mouthwash as needed.

Tooth Sensitivity

Sensitive teeth symptoms are mild or sudden flashes of pain, radiating in the teeth upon consumption of something hot, cold, sour, sweet or by contact with your toothbrush. About 40 million people in the US are affected by this condition. Aggressive brushing, poor oral hygiene, tooth decay, cracked teeth, and periodontal disease can also result in sensitive teeth. Certain toothpastes and tooth whitening products can also lead to sensitive teeth. For years my teeth were uncomfortably sensitive.

I had tried every sensitivity toothpaste on the market. Nothing kept me from cringing every time hot air, cold air, hot water, cold water, or even my toothbrush would touch my teeth. Teeth whitening products seemed to make the discomfort even stronger. After two weeks of using the Brushing Rinse my tooth sensitivity went away and has never come back

Plaque & Tartar

Plague is a biofilm made of a variety of bacteria, saliva, and other particles that coats the mouth, teeth and tongue. When plaque bacteria digest the food in the mouth, acids are formed. The gums become inflamed as an immune response to the acid. Tenderness and bleeding are indications of this. Dentists call this gingivitis. If not taken care of, via brushing or flossing, the plaque can turn into tartar (its hardened form) and lead to periodontis or periodontal disease. While plaque can be removed with good oral care, tartar requires a dental hygienist to remove it. Cavities occur when plaque acids eat away at tooth enamel.

Toxic Morning Mouth

Toxic morning mouth occurs because of the body's natural cleansing process that takes place while we sleep each night. From approximately 10pm to 6am our liver cleanses our blood. Many of the toxins and bacteria accumulate in our mouth. It's not an accident that our breath is not its best first thing in the morning. Long ago, Ayurvedic practitioners observed this phenomena and recommended tongue scraping as a way to rid ourselves of yesterday's toxins. EssentialOxygen Brushing Rinse operates on the same principle, but removes all of the bad bacteria, not just some of it.

Whiter Teeth

If teeth are whitenable, EssentialOxygen Brushing Rinse is highly effective for bringing them to their pearly whitest. It does so safely, without harming enamel with excessive peroxide or toxins like chlorine bleach. It does so inexpensively unlike many teeth whitening protocols.

Breath Confidence

The American Dental Hygienist Association says that nearly 40 million Americans commonly suffer from bad breath, also known as oral malodor or halitosis. It is generally caused by strong foods such as onions or garlic, poor oral health habits, or medical problems such as stomach disorders, an excessive postnasal drip, or bacteria in the mouth. Unlike many products that mask bad breath with sweeteners and chemicals, EssentialOxygen Brushing Rinse does not add the sweeteners, artificial sweeteners, and flavorings that actually attract bacteria, and therefore genuinely cleans and freshens the mouth for many hours at a time.

Pockets & Receding Gums

If tartar remains on the teeth long enough it can irritate the gums. The gums can swell, bleed and weaken to the point that they begin to "pull away" from the teeth creating receding gums. When plaque wreaks havoc below the gum line it's called periodontal disease. ‘Pockets' of bacteria form below the gum line, and ultimately start devouring the bone that can cause your teeth to loosen, get crooked, or fall out altogether.

Every time I went to my dental hygienist she would point out some new bacteria pocket in my gums. and that the gums were continuing to recede. I brushed and flossed with diligence, but the pockets and receding continued to worsen. A sad thing happened. My front teeth, that had always been perfectly straight even without braces, got crooked from bacteria eating away at the bone. Even though dentists had always told me I would always have my teeth, it was starting to look like I might not. I had to come up with a solution. I went to an Oxygen Therapy workshop and learned about the amazing cleansing properties of food grade hydrogen peroxide. I researched essential oils known for their anti-microbial properties. I put the two together and I had my Brushing Rinse. At my next hygienist appointment she noticed that I had no new pockets and my gums hadn't receded any further. She even commented that my tartar build up was significantly reduced.

Oral Bacteria

Bacteria are single celled microorganisms that inhibit virtually every square inch of the planet. There are hundreds of thousands of strains, some pathogenic, some beneficial. Typically in the past, the normal bacteria in our bodies, and more specifically our mouths, served to keep things tidy and eat up disease and other unwanted particles. Our immune systems kept normal levels of pathogenic bacteria in check. Modern living has precipitated oral bacteria overgrowth. Simple carbs like white flour, sugar, and alcohol - as well as stress and toxins - have tipped the scales in favor of pathogenic bacteria and their proliferation. Mycotoxins, the waste of pathogenic bacteria and anaerobic bacteria that seep from root canals, can be particularly toxic. This sets off a negative spiral for our oral and overall health as these acids and toxins can coat teeth, be swallowed, or absorbed into the bloodstream through thinning gums.

Dental Procedures

By reducing the harmful oral bacteria, the incidence of dental procedures like fillings, root canals, gum replacements, and implants can be reduced as well.

Mystica's Story

Five years ago I had advanced periodontal disease. My hygienist sent me off to find a cure before my straight teeth got any more crooked from bone loss. After months of exploration, I started brushing my teeth with food-grade hydrogen peroxide, aloe and a potent blend of organic essential oils. After three days my friends started asking if I had my teeth whitened. Then I noticed my gums no longer bled when I flossed and my teeth weren't sensitive anymore. When I went back to the hygienist, she said the pockets and receding gums had stopped in their tracks & that tartar buildup was significantly reduced. I'm ecstatic to report that it's been five years and I'm still enjoying pristine oral health with this amazing discovery.
