Urinary Diuretic and Antilithic The herbs in this formula have diuretic and anti-lithic properties. They have been shown to benefit the entire urinary system, promoting better secretions and waste excretions and assisting in the relief of kidney stones and gravel, and kidney, bladder, urinary infections.
Contents: Gravel root, Uva Ursi leaf, Hydrangea root, Horsetail herb, Dandelion root, Cleavers flowering herb, Fresh Nettle Leaf, Echinacea angustifolia root, Chinese Actractylodes root, Pipsissewa herb and Quebra Pedra in a base containing concentrated Rose Hips extract. 15 to 40 drops 2-3 times daily. Not recommended if nursing or pregnant.

Gravel Root (Eupatorium purpureum)
Actions: Diuretic, anti-lithic, anti-rheumatic.
Common Uses: Gravel root is used primarily for kidney stones or gravel. In urinary infections such as cystitis and urethritis it may also be used with benefit. This herb can also play a useful role in the systemetic relief of rheumatism and gout.
Uva Ursi Leaf (Eupatorium purpureum)
Actions: Diuretic, antilithic, astringent, antiseptic, tonic, antibiotic.
Common Use: Uva Ursi leaves possess very valuable properties that can assist in the relief of urinary tract complaints. The herb is reputed to be efficacious in dissolving stones in the kidney and bladder and in eliminating uric acid from the blood. Also used in rheumatism and other conditions marked by an accumulation of acids and waste products in the system. It will soothe, tone and strengthen the urinary system and definitely has a part to play in a holistic approach to more chronic kidney problems.
Hydrangea Root (Eupatorium purpureum)
Actions: Diuretic, antilithic.
Common Uses: Hydrangea root has been most associated with the prostate gland the urinary tract.
Horsetail Grass (Equisetum arvense) aka Shavegrass
Actions: Astringent, diuretic, vulnerary.
Common Uses: The essential element, silicon, is present in very large amounts in Horsetail. Silicon is necessary for the body to properly utilize calcium. People shown to have calcium deficiencies may not deficient in calcium at all, but rather actually lack silicon in their diets, thus not properly utilizing calcium resulting in deposits.
Dandelion Root (Taraxacum officinale)
Actions: Diuretic, cholagogue, antirheumatic, laxative, hepatic, depurative.
Common Use: The blood cleansing properties of this simple plant, and its stimulating effect on the stomach, liver and bowels, make it a very valuable plant for all disorders of this kind. Dandelion is also one of the highest natural sources of potassium, as well as numerous other vitamins and minerals. This herb is a most valuable general tonic and perhaps the best widely applicable diuretic and liver tonic available.
Cleavers Flowering Herb (Galium aparine)
Actions: Diuretic, alterative, anti-inflammatory, tonic, astringent, antineoplastic.
Common Use: As a lymphatic tonic with alterative and diuretic actions, cleavers is perhaps the best tonic for the lymphatic system available. It is also considered helpful in aiding lymphatic drainage and thus detoxifies the tissue.
Fresh Nettle Leaf (Urtica dioica)
Actions: Alterative, nutritive, astringent, diuretic, tonic.
Common Use: Nettles are one of the most widely applicable plants available. They can effect a wide range of problems and act as an excellent general detoxifying remedy and whole body tonic. Nettles are a rich source of trace elements, absorbing and accumulating them. Because of their rich nutritional content, (this includes minerals, vitamins, iron and chlorophyll) they have traditionally been used for anemia, exhaustion, debility and to help people recuperate. The high content of silicon present has made nettles highly beneficial in stimulating hair growth and improving the condition of the hair and especially the skin.
Echinacea Root (Echinacea angustifolia)
Actions: Antimicrobial, alterative, antiseptic, antibacterial, immune stimulant, anticatarrhal.
Common Use: Echinacea is the prime remedy to help rid the body of microbial infections. This plant shows up in most herbal cold, flu and fever formulas, for this purpose it combines well with golden seal. In conjunction with other herbs it may be used for any infection, anywhere in the body. 20 to 60 drops 2-3 times daily or more as needed. Not recommended for long term use in large amounts.
Chinese Atractylodes Root (Atractylodes macrocephala)
Actions: Stomachic, diuretic, anti-emetic, digestive tonic.
Common Uses: This herb has been used for deficiency of the spleen, physical and mental fatigue, diarrhea, edema, retention of phlegm, dizziness and vomiting. It has a pronounced and long lasting diuretic effect, inhibiting reabsorption by the renal tubules and increasing the secretion of potassium salts. It also has the ability to lower blood sugar levels, promote digestion and the essential oil present in Atractylodes possesses a sedative action.
Pipsissewa Herb (Chimaphila umbellata)
Actions: Diuretic, tonic, alterative, astringent.
Common Use: This herb finds its main use as a urinary antiseptic and as a diuretic with a beneficial effect on the liver, kidney and bladder. In disorders of the urinary organs, it is especially effective in relieving irritation and catarrhal conditions of the kidneys and bladder, reducing uric acid, and helping against deposits of stone and gravel.
Quebra Pedra (Phyllanthus niruri v. sp.)Rainforest
Common Use: Quebra Pedra has traditionally been used to strengthen and fortify the liver and gall-bladder functions by stimulating bile production. It has been used in the alternative therapy of hepatitis and liver problems. Quebra Pedra can also clear obstructions throughout the system by promoting the elimination of mucous and kidney stones. As a diuretic it will help with all afflictions of the urinary system, stimulating the elimination of uric acid and helping with urinary tract infections. It may also promote health in those wiht bronchitis, diabetes and hypertension. Not recommended if nursing or pregnant.
Rose Hips (Rosa canina)
Actions: Nutrient, mild laxative, mild diuretic, mild astringent
Common Use: Rose hips provide one of the best natural sources of vitamin C available. They are also rich in vitamins A, E and Rutin. Rose hips is a nutritional herb used to build up the body and strengthen the immune system.
