Angelica Root (Angelica archangelica)
Actions: Carminative, expectorant, diaphoretic, diuretic, pectoral.
Common Use: Angelica root finds its main use as an expectorant for coughs, bronchitis and pleurisy, especially when accompanied by colds, fever or the flu. Also known to ease intestinal colic and flatulence, stimulate appetite and may be helpful in anorexia nervosa. May be of value in easing rheumatic inflammations and in cystitis it acts as a urinary antiseptic. Angelica root has also been indicated in programs to help lessen the desire for alcohol. 15 to 30 drops 2 to 4 times daily.
