Brain & Memory Adaptogen Tonic The herbs in this formula have been shown to increase mental and memory performance and also act as excellent adaptogens. Traditionally used to increase mental acuity and performance, concentration ability and brain functions while also helping to resist stress and better adapt to mental challenges. Also indicated for memory loss, senility, dementia and a wide variety of vascular conditions including varicose veins.
Contents: Chinese Ginkgo Leaf and Indian Gotu Kola herb. 20 to 45 drops 2-4 times daily. Not recommended if nursing or pregnant.

Ginkgo Leaf (Ginko biloba)
Actions: Mental alertness, circulatory stimulant, antioxidant.
Common Use: One of the most interesting herbs of the last few years, Ginkgo improves brain function, including memory and alertness, protects blood vessels, im-proves circulation, and is a powerful antioxidant. Also acts on a wide range of vascular conditions, including verti-go, tinnitus, neurological disorders, Alzheimer's disease, memory and concentration problems, diminished intellec-tual capacity due to insufficient circulation and complications of stroke and skull injuries. European studies have also shown Ginkgo Leaf to "correct erection failures" in 50% of the patients studied.
Gotu Kola herb (Centella asiatica)
Actions: Tonic, depurative, diuretic, alterative, adaptogen, circulatory tonic.
Common Use: Gotu kola is useful as a brain food to rebuild energy reserves and stamina. It can increase mental and physical power, combat stress and improve reflexes. It is known to relieve high blood pressure, and is said to be a valuable relief for depression and mental problems by helping with mental fatigue, senility, schizophrenia, epilepsy, and memory loss. Also neutralizes blood toxins and helps balance hormones and relax the nerves.

The company began with the Rene Caisse formula (Native Essence Tea). Since then the herb company has expanded the line to include dozens of combination formulas and over 100 single herbs.
All of Herbal Solutions™ extracts are prepared according to specific extraction procedures. Each plant is individually extracted using grain alcohol and distilled water. Some plant's bio-active constituents will dictate the concentration of alcohol used, this ensures maximum extraction. Most of our extracts contain approximately 45% alcohol.
The extraction procedures employed by Herbal Solutions™ also vary according to the individual plant and whether the plant is fresh or dry. All extracts are prepared by a slow, cold percolation process or through a long maceration, with some plants going through the process more than once to increase concentration.
Herbal Solutions™ prepares extracts to specific herb strengths, 1:2 to 1:3 for dry plants and 1:1 to 1:2 for fresh plants. The herb strength ratio is the amount (by weight) of solid plant parts (root, flower, etc.) used to obtain the final amount of extract. Thus, an herb strength ratio of 1:2 means 1 oz. of plant material is used to make a 2 oz. bottle of extract. Since many fresh plants still contain a good percentage of water, more fresh plant material will generally be used when making an extract with fresh plants.
