This
formula contains Black Elderberry, a valuable diaphoretic and anti-viral.
A diaphoretic is an herb that can increase perspiration, thereby
helping in the elimination of toxins through the skin and helping
to cleanse the body. Although indicated in a wide range of conditions,
their use in the relief of fevers and infections affecting the
whole body, such as influenza, has been most promising. Their strengthening
and healing properties can often help the body rid itself of these
conditions in a very short time.
Contents:
Black Elder berry and flower (Sambucus nigra), Boneset herb, Echinacea
angustifolia root, Yarrow flowers, Angelica root, Golden Seal root,
Wild Indigo root and Ginger root in a base containing concentrated
Rose Hips extract. 20 to 40 drops 2-4 times daily or 1-2 teaspoons
(60-120 drops) at the onset of viral infection and 1 teaspoon every
2 hours for no more than 5 days. Child’s dose should be modified
to 5 drops for every year of age until the adult dose is reached.

Actions:

Common Use: Elderberry
flowers are a very valuable remedy in the relief of colds

respitory tract. Their diaphoretic action helps to eliminate
acids and other impurities through the skin. Elder leaf
extract has recently been shown to have antiviral activity

Boneset
herb (Eupatorium perfoliatum)
Actions:
Diaphoretic, mild laxative, tonic, antispasmodic, alterative.
Common Use: Considered
by herbalists to be one of the best herbs available for
the relief of symptoms that accompany influenza. Also used
to quickly relieve aches and pains and help the body deal
with fevers and clear the upper respiratory tract. Its mild
laxative effect will help clear the body of any waste buildup
and ease constipation, this is a good general cleansing
agent.

Echinacea
root (Echinacea angustifolia)

stimulant, anticatarrhal.
Common Use: Echinacea
is the prime remedy to help rid the body of microbial infections.
This plant shows up in most herbal cold, flu and fever formulas,
for this purpose it combines well with golden seal. In conjunction

Yarrow
flower (Achillea millefolium)
Actions:
Diaphoretic, stimulant, hypotensive, astringent, diuretic,
tonic, alterative, antiseptic, depurative.
Common Use: Yarrow
is one of the best diaphoretic herbs and is a standard remedy
for aiding the body to deal with fevers. It lowers blood
pressure due to a dilation of the peripheral vessels, stimulates
digestion and tones the blood vessels. As a urinary antiseptic
it is indicated in infections such as cystitis. Preparations
of yarrow flower have been shown to stimulate the gastric
juices, this would account for yarrows effectiveness as
a tonic, with improved digestion of foods, which is due
to the presence of bitter substances in the blossoms. Test
tube studies have shown yarrow to possess antibiotic properties.

Angelica
root (Angelica archangelica)
Actions:
Carminative, expectorant, diaphoretic, diuretic, pectoral.
Common Use: Angelica
root finds its main use as an expectorant for coughs, bronchitis
and pleurisy, especially when accompanied by colds, fever
or the flu. Also known to ease intestinal colic and flatulence,
stimulate apetite and may be helpful in anorexia nervosa.
May be of value in easing rheumatic inflammations and in
cystitis it acts as a urinary antiseptic. Angelica root
has also been indicated in programs to help lessen the desire
for alcohol.

Golden
Seal root (Hydrastis canadensis)
Actions:
Tonic, astringent, anticatarrhal, laxative, muscular stimulant,
bitter, pectoral.
Common Use: Golden
seal owes most of its specific uses to the powerful tonic
qualities shown towards the mucous membranes of the body.
It is therefore helpful in all digestive problems. Its bitter
stimulation gives it a role in loss of appetite. Also known
to improve all catarrhal conditions, especially those of
the sinuses. Not recommended for long term use or if pregnant

Wild
Indigo root (Baptisia tinctoria)
Actions:
Antimicrobial, anticatarrhal, alterative, febrifuge, antiseptic.
Common Use: Wild indigo
is an herb to be considered wherever there is a focused
infection, especially infections and catarrh in the ear,
nose and throat. It may be used for laryngitis, tonsillitis,
pharyngitis and catarrhal infections of the nose and sinus.
Taken internally and as a mouthwash it will help with mouth
ulcers, gingivitis, and in the control of pyorrhea. Also
used effectively to treat enlarged and inflamed lymph glands,
the action of this plant exerts a vital influence, aiding
in metabolism by stimulating the elimination of accumulated
waste in the body and encouraging normal organic activity.
This herb is also included in the Hoxsey

Ginger
root (Zingiber officinale)
Actions: Stimulant,
carminative, rubefacient, diaphoretic, stomachic, sialagogue,
antioxidant.
Common Use: Ginger
may be helpful as a stimulant of the peripheral circulation
in cases of bad circulation, chilblains and cramps. It is
also used as a remedy for digestive problems, sore throats
and as a promoter of perspiration in treating fevers. Japanese
researchers have discovered cardiac-tonic principles in
ginger root. It is also said to be used with other herbs
to enhance their effectiveness.
