Iron
deficiency is one of the most common deficiencies in the world.

deficiency results in the density of red blood cells and the
amount of hemoglobin in a specified volume of blood to be less

to be comparable to that of a grown man. According to the American
Medical Association Council on Nutrition, infants should have
their diet fortified with iron supplementation to ensure adequate
nutrition.
