Used since ancient times, Valerian Root is as popular today as ever for its beneficial properties. Hops has a marked relaxing effect on the central nervous system, it is used extensively for the relief of insomnia and to ease tension and anxiety, and may also be used where this tension leads to restlessness, headaches and possibly indigestion. Skullcap, so named because its blue flowers resemble a hat or cap, is a member of the mint family. Native to North America, scullcap has been used for more than 200 years for its relaxing properties. This pleasant and soothing herb contains flavoglycosides, which may explain its traditional use as a calming agent.
